Our path to becoming carbon negative

To reach our net zero emissions goals by 2025, we must be proactive and enable the transition to green energy. We at Katrick Technologies, a green energy company, continuously re-evaluate our practices to see how we can become closer to being carbon negative and ensure our materials, policies and practices minimise adverse environmental impact.

Katrick Technologies are a leading innovator in the zero-carbon market, designing products that will significantly contribute to decarbonisation at a low cost to the end-user.

We recognise that our activities have a local and global environmental impact. These impacts may be near our site locations or more widely through raw materials, energy consumption, and air, land, and water emissions. To minimise these impacts to as low as reasonably achievable, the Company realise that environmental protection, pollution prevention, energy efficiency and sustainability are integral to business operations.

To manage the above impacts and to achieve the objectives set out below, the company maintain an effective Environmental Management System based on ISO 14001:2015. Our full environmental policy is detailed below.

Paperless.

We are a paperless company, saving an estimated 1.4 Tonnes of CO2 per annum equivalent.

Sourcing.

Our prototypes and products have, to date, been majority built in the UK, minimising freight CO2 emissions. We source from local producers and manufacturers to minimise transport CO2 overheads.

Recycling.

Our office space and laboratories have full spectrum recycling facilities, including e-waste. All materials are recycled to the maximum permissible under the Glasgow City Council environmental framework.

Communication.

Staff communicate electronically and remotely as much as possible, with work-from-home freedoms further minimising carbon footprint. We used a small-footprint shared office environment to minimise financial and environmental overheads.

Offices.

Our offices and laboratory have a very low need for water beyond basic cleanliness and hydration. Heavy water use is not a constituent in our design or development. Where we are directly responsible for energy consumption, we source from 100% renewable energy suppliers.

Travel.

Our offices have a fully equipped bike storage locker and are designed around low-impact working. We actively encourage our team to use public transportation or to cycle or walk to work when necessary. For any other travel in the UK, we use electric trains to keep our emissions as low as possible. We do not own any company vehicles, and any future car needs will only be met with small-footprint electric vehicles.

Our Technologies.

The chemicals used in our products are biodegradable, recyclable and/or non-polluting. We aim for our products to be fully recyclable with the remainder disposed of without risk to the environment. None of our products uses ozone-depleting substances. We have very low use of VOCs, and other solvents and our products are 100% lead-free. It is important to note that our core products further reduce the carbon footprint of energy generation and, in effect, contribute to a vastly negative carbon energy footprint over their lifespan.

We at Katrick Technologies seek to reduce our environmental impact through customer, supplier and workforce engagement. We ensure this policy is cascaded, communicated to employees throughout our business, and available upon request for interested parties.

Katrick Technologies envisions that the world will be run on green energy shortly. Therefore we are deploying our technology at several sites to demonstrate how we can help this transition. Our engineering team is focused on developing innovative technology and applications for global and local uses.
